The Skål International India National Congress 2025 wrapped up at the Sahara Star Hotel, Mumbai, marking a landmark gathering for the tourism industry. Held from September 12 to 14, the three-day event drew over 200 delegates from India and abroad, making it one of the most successful editions to date.
The congress opened with distinguished personalities including Maneka Gandhi, Shashi Tharoor, Pooja Bedi, Subhash Ghai, and Zayed Khani, setting the stage for high-profile discussions. The Annual General Meeting for 2024–2025 presented by President Sanjeev Mehra and Treasurer Monik Dharamshi highlighted transparency, growth, and the Vision 2025–2030 roadmap for strengthening Skål’s presence in India and globally.
A major highlight was the launch of the Skål International Indian Excellence Awards 2025, recognising clubs and individuals for contributions in performance, growth, CSR, innovation, and global outreach. Winners included Skål International Chennai, Goa, Bangalore, and Coimbatore, along with individual honours for Raja Gopal Iyer and Kamleshwaran P.S.

The congress reaffirmed India’s leadership within the Skål movement, now the largest Skål country in the world by membership, surpassing the USA. Plans were announced to expand clubs across all states and Union Territories, while sustainable practices at the congress set new benchmarks for eco-friendly event management.
Looking ahead, Jaipur, Coimbatore, and Jammu & Kashmir are finalists to host the 2026 edition. With record participation, focus on sustainability, and ambitious expansion plans, the 2025 congress underscored India’s pivotal role in shaping the global future of Skål.
