TAAI Launches ‘Let’s Visit J&K’ Campaign to Revive Tourism After Pahalgam Attack

In response to the recent decline in tourist footfall following the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) has launched a nationwide campaign titled “Let’s Visit J&K” to revive confidence in the region’s tourism potential. As a result of the attack, large numbers of tourists began leaving the state, leading to widespread cancellations and a significant dip in bookings. TAAI, the oldest and one of the most respected travel industry associations in India, is now leading efforts to bring tourists back to this iconic destination.

In a statement, TAAI emphasized the importance of national solidarity in the face of adversity. “India is a beacon of secularism and one of the fastest-growing economies. It must stand together in solidarity when a region’s tourism potential is threatened by terrorism,” reads a note circulated by the association. Highlighting the cultural richness and timeless appeal of Jammu and Kashmir, TAAI urged travelers not to let isolated incidents overshadow the enduring charm of the region.

To reignite interest in travel to Jammu and Kashmir, TAAI is actively coordinating with the state government to enhance security measures that will reassure tourists and stakeholders alike. Additionally, the association is collaborating with the hospitality sector to roll out special promotional packages, and has announced plans to engage with airlines for discounted promotional fares, aimed at making travel to the region more accessible and attractive.

TAAI’s campaign underscores the need to protect and promote J&K’s tourism economy while honoring its legacy as one of the world’s most scenic and culturally significant destinations. Through collective efforts, TAAI hopes to restore confidence and reignite travel interest in Jammu and Kashmir.
