The much-anticipated Taiwan Expo 2025 in India is poised to accelerate bilateral trade momentum by uniting 107 leading Taiwanese enterprises with Indian stakeholders at Bharat Mandapam (Pragati Maidan), New Delhi, from September 25–27. As a flagship event for strengthening Taiwan–India economic ties, this year’s expo spotlights four key growth pillars: Smart Manufacturing, Smart Technology, Green Innovation, and Wellness Fiesta reflecting the deep alignment of Taiwan’s advanced strengths with India’s ambitious national missions such as Digital India, Make in India, and the IndiaAI Mission.
At a pre-expo press conference on September 17, delegates from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center, India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), and key Indian trade bodies such as FICCI, EEPC, TPCI, and ELCINA underscored the expo’s significance. Mr. Keven Cheng, Deputy Director of TAITRA, highlighted India’s emergence as a strategic manufacturing hub for Taiwanese firms, with its expansive market, skilled workforce, and advantageous location. Since its inception in 2018, Taiwan Expo has become a critical catalyst for opening new market avenues, with the partnership already producing results in semiconductors, electronics, ICT, and smart machinery.
Reflecting on recent milestones, Ms. Yu-Chi Chen from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center reported that Taiwan–India bilateral trade reached a record USD 10.6 billion in 2024, and the number of Taiwanese firms in India has tripled since 2017, now exceeding 250—a strong signal of deepening industrial collaboration. The expo will feature innovative product showcases such as industrial PCs by Advantech, security solutions by Zyxel, Industrial IoT routers by Proscend, video conferencing devices by IPEVO, and a next-generation drone by TAISYS Technologies, underscoring Taiwan’s prowess in high-tech and cross-sector innovation.
Timed alongside World Food India, the nation’s premier food expo—the event will host a special Taiwan Select Food Pavilion, with standout offerings like A-Sha Foods’ air-dried noodles, HOYA Next Meats’ innovative plant-based products, and DR. Diary’s instant boba milk tea kits, all set to entice Indian consumers and buyers.
With Foxconn (Hon Hai Technology Group) and other heavyweights joining the expo, industry leaders view the event as a pivotal platform to cement Taiwan–India alliances amid shifting global supply chains and geopolitical transformation. The Taiwan Expo 2025 promises new opportunities for collaboration and innovation, reinforcing Taiwan as a trusted partner in India’s growth journey while opening fresh channels for trade, technology, and talent exchange.
