Telangana has unveiled a bold new tourism policy aimed at transforming the state into one of India’s top five tourism destinations over the next five years. The 2025–2030 blueprint outlines a vision to attract INR.15,000 crore in investments, create over 300,000 jobs, and elevate tourism’s contribution to 10% of the state’s GDP.
The plan focuses on 27 dedicated tourism zones, each highlighting a unique segment — from heritage and pilgrimage circuits to adventure, river-based tourism, wellness retreats, and medical tourism. Strategic development near the international airport and key transport hubs is expected to make the state more accessible to domestic and international travellers alike.
New infrastructure projects include dry ports, waterfront promenades, and cultural centres, alongside incentives for private investors. The policy also calls for the formation of a Tourism Promotion Board and Destination Management Organisations to ensure professional execution and global-standard service delivery.
By integrating heritage conservation with modern infrastructure, Telangana hopes to position itself as a year-round destination offering diverse experiences to both domestic and foreign visitors.
