Telangana is set to revolutionize travel with the launch of heli-tourism connecting Hyderabad, Srisailam, and Somasila, announced by Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao. This innovative initiative offers tourists breathtaking aerial views of the lush Nallamala forests, the majestic Srisailam dam, and the winding Krishna River, coupled with stops at heritage-rich temple towns. Moving beyond traditional road trips, the service aims to provide an accessible, immersive, and transformative aerial tourism experience, not just for luxury travellers but for all seekers of unique adventures.
The project is in partnership with travel platform EaseMyTrip, which will manage bookings and logistics, making the service smooth and widely available. The helicopter tours promise a new perspective on Telangana’s natural beauty and cultural heritage, offering bird’s-eye sightseeing that is both time-saving and awe-inspiring.
Alongside heli-tourism, Telangana is investing over ₹68 crore in tourism infrastructure, including wellness retreats such as the ₹45.84 crore Amaragiri Island Eco-Spiritual Retreat, alongside upgrades to boating and riverfront facilities at Somasila and other scenic spots. These developments are designed to elevate Telangana as a full-fledged destination for adventure, wellness, and cultural tourism.
Minister Jupally Krishna Rao highlighted that this initiative forms part of a broader campaign to attract more foreign and domestic tourists, create jobs, and enhance facilities across the region. The state plans to give a significant push to water sports and adventure tourism, positioning Telangana as a destination state rather than just a stopover.
With heli-tourism soon taking to the skies, visitors to Telangana can expect an unforgettable journey blending scenic aerial views, spiritual experiences, and invigorating wellness escapes all contributing to transforming Telangana’s tourism landscape and boosting the local economy.
