The Fern Hotels & Resorts, India’s leading environmentally conscious hotel brand, has announced significant internal promotions within its operations team, reinforcing the group’s commitment to operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and sustainable growth. The promotions include Arindam Bahel, Gautam Banerjee, and Rajib Das, all elevated to the position of General Manager – Operations, each bringing decades of industry experience and proven leadership to their new roles.
Arindam Bahel, now General Manager – Operations, will be based at The Fern Brentwood Resort & Spa, Mussoorie. With over 20 years of experience across luxury resorts and international properties, Arindam’s career began as a Management Trainee at The Orchid Mumbai. He rose through the culinary ranks to become Executive Chef and later transitioned into senior leadership roles at iconic properties like The Ananta Udaipur and Hotel Yak & Yeti, Nepal. Known for his transformation of guest satisfaction and operational performance, Arindam brings a unique kitchen-to-boardroom perspective and was named ‘Best General Manager of the Year’ (2022–23). In his new role, he will focus on strengthening synergy across hill, eco, and pilgrimage destinations while nurturing future leadership talent.
Gautam Banerjee has also been promoted to General Manager – Operations. With a distinguished 30-year career, Gautam began at Ras Resorts Silvassa in 1995 and has led operations at respected hotel brands including Kamat Hotels, Absolute Hotels, O Hotel, and Quality Inn. Renowned for reviving underperforming hotels and driving F&B excellence, he will now oversee The Fern and Beacon properties in Maharashtra, contributing his deep operational insight and results-oriented leadership.
Rajib Das, with over 24 years of industry experience, has been elevated to General Manager – Operations and will lead operations across five hotels in Maharashtra under The Fern brand. His expertise spans hotel management, guest services, cost control, and F&B operations, with a background in brands like The Park, Premier Inn, Taj Exotica, and InterContinental Goa. A diploma holder in Hotel Management with additional training from Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, Rajib is known for his focus on efficiency, service excellence, and operational innovation.
