The Oberoi, New Delhi and Tarun Tahiliani Unveil ‘Quintessence’ to Celebrate 60 Years of Legacy and 30 Years of Design Excellence

In a grand celebration of legacy, luxury, and quiet elegance, The Oberoi, New Delhi marked its 60th anniversary by joining hands with renowned couturier Tarun Tahiliani, who completes 30 years in the fashion industry. Together, they unveiled ‘Quintessence – The Spirit of Tarun Tahiliani Couture & Bridal 2025’, a couture collection rooted in timeless artistry and refined craftsmanship.

Held at The Oberoi, New Delhi—an iconic address that blends architectural grace with serenity—the showcase was more than a fashion event. It was a powerful narrative of shared heritage, excellence, and a forward-looking vision of Indian luxury. Tarun Tahiliani’s collection featured pearl-studded embroideries, fluid drapes, and structured tailoring that embraced subtlety and emotional depth over grandeur.

“This is couture for those who want to feel, not flaunt,” said Tahiliani. “In its quiet, you meet yourself. Quintessence is about celebrating love, presence, and being comfortable in your own skin.”

A major highlight of the evening was the collaboration with de Gournay, global masters of hand-painted wallcoverings. The bespoke Early Views of India suite, painted on Ivory Indian Tea Paper, transformed the venue into a living canvas of India’s rich visual heritage. In an innovative twist, Tahiliani reimagined one of the painted silk panels into a one-of-a-kind couture jacket—merging the worlds of fine art and fashion.

The creative synergy between The Oberoi and Tarun Tahiliani wasn’t just about aesthetics. It was a celebration of Indian luxury at its most evolved—soulful, sustainable, and exquisitely understated. As The Oberoi celebrated six decades of hospitality and Tahiliani three decades of couture mastery, Quintessence emerged as a defining moment in the future of Indian design.

This event reinforced both brands’ commitment to excellence, heritage, and timeless artistry. It was a reminder that in a world driven by spectacle, true elegance lies in restraint—and that the most lasting impressions are often the quietest.
