The Suryaa New Delhi, a longstanding gem in the capital’s hospitality sector since 1982, has recently achieved record-breaking revenue figures, shared Greesh Bindra, Vice President of the hotel in an interview with Travel World Online (TWO). This achievement comes in a year marked by strategic improvements and a deepened focus on personalized guest experiences.
With a diverse business mix, the hotel draws nearly 50% of its guests from inbound leisure tourism, while corporate bookings and medical tourism each contribute significantly to its operations. Notably, The Suryaa is the only hotel in the Delhi NCR to offer six specially designed rooms for guests with disabilities, a thoughtful feature given its proximity to several large hospitals.
Bindra detailed the hotel’s unique approach to serving medical tourism guests, emphasizing the importance of personalized care. “We extend our hospitality beyond standard services. For instance, our chefs coordinate with local hospitals to tailor meals according to the dietary needs of patients staying with us for medical reasons,” he explained. This attention to detail has made The Suryaa a preferred option for medical tourists, some of whom have been known to delay their medical procedures until accommodations at the hotel become available.
Inbound leisure tourism also plays a significant role at The Suryaa, with Bindra leveraging his extensive contacts to attract international visitors. “We are probably the only hotel in the city with such a large percentage of leisure tourism,” Bindra noted, adding that this segment has significantly contributed to the hotel’s financial success.
Celebrating the highest record revenues for the period 2023-2024, The Suryaa credits its success to its dedicated leadership and sales teams. “Hospitality is about building relationships that last,” said Bindra, who believes that genuine interactions are foundational to their success.
Guests at The Suryaa can enjoy dining at Sampan, the hotel’s renowned Pan-Asian rooftop restaurant, and Ssence, a 24-hour coffee shop that caters to the tastes of international visitors. The hotel’s focus on quality cuisine has reshaped its atmosphere and guest experience, thanks in part to the innovative efforts of their executive chef.
Looking ahead, Bindra shared insights from a recent strategic retreat in Rishikesh with hotel management and heads of departments, aimed at sustaining and building on the current momentum. The retreat included team-building activities and strategic planning sessions to set new performance goals.
