Jumeirah, a global leader in luxury hospitality and a member of Dubai Holding, has announced the appointment of Thomas B. Meier as its new Chief Executive Officer. With extensive industry experience, Thomas will lead the brand’s ambitious Mission 2030 strategy, which aims to double Jumeirah’s portfolio by 2030, focusing on international expansion and enhancing its position as a global leader in luxury hospitality.
Previously serving as Chief Operating Officer since October 2021 and most recently as Interim CEO, Thomas has played a pivotal role in the brand’s growth. His tenure has been marked by significant achievements, including Jumeirah’s entry into Africa with the launch of Jumeirah Thanda Island in Tanzania and Jumeirah Thanda Safari in South Africa, as well as preparations for other high-profile property launches.
Under his leadership, Jumeirah plans to innovate and set new standards for the industry, delivering exceptional guest experiences rooted in culture and connection. Reflecting on his appointment, Thomas stated, “Jumeirah has always set new benchmarks in luxury hospitality. As we expand into new markets and prepare for key openings like Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, I am honoured to lead the next chapter of Jumeirah’s journey. Jumeirah currently operates 30 properties across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia, with recent additions such as Jumeirah Red Sea in Saudi Arabia, Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab in the UAE, and Jumeirah Le Richemond Geneva in Switzerland. The brand continues to pursue owner and operator opportunities in key gateway cities and resort destinations, reinforcing its leadership in the global luxury hospitality sector.
