Thomas Cook (India) Limited and its group company, SOTC Travel, have signed a long-term Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Queensland Tourism (Tourism and Events Queensland) to drive Indian travel to Australia. The agreement, signed in the presence of Queensland Premier Hon David Crisafulli MP, focuses on joint marketing, content creation, and training programs, leveraging the companies’ strong digital platforms and extensive retail network across India.
Queensland, home to the Great Barrier Reef, Daintree Rainforest, Gold Coast, Whitsundays, Brisbane, Cairns, and Port Douglas, will be promoted as a year-round destination for leisure, MICE, B-leisure, and sports tourism. The state appeals to families, couples, millennials, Gen Z, and sports fans, with global events like the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Games set to boost its profile further.
Rajeev Kale, President & Country Head, Thomas Cook India, said the MOU would enable the creation of “immersive, experience-led itineraries” in line with India’s growing demand for experiential travel. S.D. Nandakumar, President & Country Head, SOTC Travel, emphasized the focus on product innovation, education, and showcasing Queensland’s iconic and hidden gems to travellers across metros and Tier 2 and 3 cities.
