Strengthening its presence in emerging Tier-II markets, Thomas Cook (India) Limited has launched its first retail outlet in Gwalior, expanding the company’s network in Madhya Pradesh to six locations.
Strategically located in the city’s central commercial district, the new store is expected to serve not only Gwalior but also nearby towns including Morena, Dabra, Datia and Shivpuri, creating a strong catchment area for the company’s holiday business. The outlet aims to cater to a wide spectrum of travellers—from multi-generational families and couples to millennials, Gen Z travellers and senior citizens seeking curated travel experiences.
The new location will provide a comprehensive range of services including domestic and international holidays, group tours, personalised itineraries, cruise bookings and travel insurance. Customers will also have access to the company’s AI-enabled booking platform that allows travellers to check availability and plan their holidays in real time.
According to the company, Madhya Pradesh has emerged as a key source market, with rising demand for both domestic and international travel. Popular overseas destinations among travellers from the region include Japan, South Korea and European favourites such as Switzerland, France and Germany, alongside Southeast Asian destinations like Thailand and Indonesia. Domestically, destinations such as Leh-Ladakh, Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala and the Northeast continue to see strong demand.
The company also noted a shift in travel behaviour, with holiday durations increasing and growing interest in experiential travel formats such as cruise vacations, adventure holidays and spiritual tourism circuits.
With the launch of its Gwalior outlet, Thomas Cook India aims to deepen its engagement with customers in central India while offering seamless access to personalised holiday planning and travel services.
