On the occasion of National Youth Skill Day 2025, the Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) reaffirmed its commitment to empowering India’s youth through industry-aligned training and employment-focused skill development. With the tourism and hospitality sector driving a major share of India’s economic growth, THSC continues to bridge the gap between education, employability, and entrepreneurship for aspiring professionals.
Under the leadership of Chairperson Jyoti Mayal, THSC has introduced forward-thinking training modules aligned with international standards and collaborated with state governments, vocational institutions, and private partners to expand the skilling ecosystem. Over the past year, thousands of youth from tier-2 and tier-3 cities have benefited from these programs, many securing jobs or launching small ventures.
Jyoti Mayal emphasized the importance of skill-based empowerment, stating, “The youth of India are not only the future—they are the present. With the right training, mentorship, and digital exposure, they can transform India’s tourism and hospitality landscape. At THSC, we continue our mission to equip every aspiring professional with practical knowledge, tech-driven skills, and entrepreneurial vision.”
Recognizing evolving trends such as wellness tourism, ecotourism, and digital concierge services, THSC is constantly upgrading its curriculum to meet changing industry demands. In addition to technical training, the council also focuses on soft skills, language proficiency, and digital literacy to shape a globally competitive workforce.
As India aims to establish itself as a global tourism hub, skilling the youth stands as a crucial pillar for sustainable development and inclusive growth. THSC’s initiatives under the Skill India Mission are paving the way for a skilled, self-reliant, and future-ready generation in the travel and hospitality sector.
