 ABTOs 4th annual Convention to take place in Bodhgaya from 10 to 12th December

The Association of Buddhist Tour Operators (ABTO) is organising its 4th annual convention in association with the Ministry of Tourism at Bodh Gaya from 10-12th December


Founder and Secretary General ABTO Dr Kaulesh in an exclusive interview to travel world online said, “this year apart from the convention and Buddhist travel mart, we are also organising a seminar on 2566 years of Buddhism, Buddhism is the 4 – 5th religion in the world in term of the religious population. If we start getting one per cent of this population, travel tourism will not only revive but thrive.”



In response to a question about international participation, Dr Kaulesh said,  ABTO’s partner organisations are spread across Asia which includes tour operators, hoteliers, scholars, professors. This yearly event gives us an opportunity to leverage the huge potential of Buddhist tourism circuits of India.”



We are also on the advisory panel of the National Tourism Advisory Council (NTAC). The ministry had nominated the association to the council for preserving heritage monuments and promoting Buddhist tourism in the country, informed Dr Kaulesh.


“ABTO consists of all tourism service providers and stakeholders engaged in promoting Buddhist pilgrimage tourism in India, Nepal and other Asian countries. For the last four years, ABTO working hard to promote, protect and preserve Buddhist sites in Asia. We are trying to raise awareness among tourists about the importance of these heritage sites. We also organize heritage walks around these monuments so that people can get to know more about the cultural and historical significance of Buddhism in India,” he added.
