The Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) Northern India Chapter organized its bi-monthly meeting on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at The Park, New Delhi, to foster collaboration and innovation within the travel industry. The meeting was started by Mr. Dinesh Kumar, Chapter Secretary; first of all, agenda items were passed unanimously, and Mr. Khushvinder Sarna, Chapter Chairman, presented the Chapter Report. The event was well attended by more than 95 members of the chapter who were present to discuss key initiatives, industry trends, and strategies to navigate the evolving landscape of travel and tourism.
With a commitment to promoting excellence and professionalism in the travel sector, TAFI convened this gathering to address pressing issues facing travel agents and to identify opportunities for growth and development. The meeting served as a platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and the exchange of best practices among industry peers. Highlights of the bi-monthly meeting included:
Sh. Manish Mohan Govil, IRS, Principal Commissioner (CGST), along with his team, Sh. Vishal Singh, IRS, Dy. Commissioner (CGST), and Ms. Charu Dhankar, IRS, Asst. The commissioner (CGST) was present. Ms. Charu Dhankar gave a detailed presentation about the GST regulations for the travel trade. The Principal Commissioner addressed and explained new technologies and facilities that were being used by the government. to make GST easy and convenient. Senior officials from IRCTC were also present and addressed the members. The Alliance Air Team made a presentation and also awarded lucky roundtrip tickets for a couple in the draw for one member. Our main sponsor was one of the eminent companies of Visa, i.e., Udaan India. They gave a detailed presentation and conducted question-and-answer sessions with the members to handle or provide services of Visa for the upcoming seasons. They also distributed a gift hamper to all the members. The TAFI-NI team felicitated distinguished guests with mementos by Sh. Khushvinder Sarna, Chapter Chairman, Sh. Dinesh Kumar, Chapter Secretary, and Sh. Rajiv Aggarwal, Chapter Treasurer. On this occasion, representatives from TAFI’s National Board, including Sh. Anil Kalsi, Vice President, and Sh. Rai Achal Krishna, Jt. Treasurer was also present and addressed the members.
