Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) has written to Union Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar seeking assistance on the long delays and other problems faced by tour operators and travelling agents.
Jyoti Mayal, President of TAAI, wrote: “We are writing to inform you and to bring to your kind notice challenges such as delay in issuance of visas and securing an appointment to apply; and related aspects of travelling to the United States and Schengen countries. At first, we approached the organisations who have been intermediaries for a long time now facilitating visas, and they provided their best possible support. However, we wish to convey that issues have not been addressed, as we believe that it is a stage where government-to-government dialogue is much needed. And, therefore, we are writing to (you)… to please look into the same and do the needful.”
