Union Budget to Sustain India’s Tourism Growth and Boost Its Global Appeal: Agoda

Agoda has highlighted India’s growing appeal as a top travel destination, with a 22% year-on-year increase in inbound accommodation searches. Krishna Rathi, Senior Country Director for India Subcontinent and MEA at Agoda, credited this surge to India’s ongoing infrastructure enhancements and destination marketing efforts.

He welcomed the tourism-focused initiatives in the Union Budget, particularly the expansion of the UDAN scheme to connect 120 new destinations, increased support for homestays, and collaboration with state governments to develop key tourist spots. Rathi expressed optimism that these measures, combined with visa easements and dynamic marketing campaigns, would sustain India’s tourism momentum and further strengthen its global appeal.
