
Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (HOSE: VJC) has reported a 24% year-over-year increase in pre-tax profit for Q1 2025, fueled by rapid international expansion, including two new direct routes connecting India to Vietnam, and a series of high-value global partnerships. The airline posted consolidated revenue of VND17.95 trillion (approx. US$690 million) and a pre-tax profit of VND836 billion (approx. US$32.1 million). Ancillary revenue accounted for more than 35% of total income, reaching VND6.22 trillion (US$239 million).
Vietjet flew over 6.87 million passengers across nearly 38,700 flights, reflecting YoY growth of 9% and 12%, respectively. Its growing international footprint now spans 137 routes, including 97 international. In Q1, Vietjet added two aircraft, expanding its fleet to 106, with a seat load factor of 87% and a technical reliability rate of 99.72%.
The airline launched new India-Vietnam routes from Bengaluru and Hyderabad to Ho Chi Minh City, and expanded its China network with flights connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to Beijing and Guangzhou. Upcoming direct services to Singapore (from Phu Quoc) and Auckland (from Ho Chi Minh City) are set to further boost Vietjet’s international presence in 2025.
Financially robust, Vietjet reported total assets of VND98.77 trillion (US$3.79 billion), with a debt-to-equity ratio of 2.12 and a liquidity ratio of 1.5, reflecting industry safety standards. Its U.S. debut has also unlocked strategic partnership deals worth US$14 billion, adding to an overall cooperation value nearing US$50 billion, including agreements with Boeing, GE, and Carlyle Aviation Partners.
Vietjet’s humanitarian contributions include delivering over 60 tons of aid to Myanmar and supporting housing initiatives in Vietnam. The airline’s SkyJoy loyalty program was recognized at the 2025 Asia Pacific Loyalty Awards, and AirlineRatings named it the “World’s Best Ultra Low Cost Carrier 2025”, also ranking it among the world’s safest airlines. These milestones position Vietjet to outperform its 2025 growth targets amid a buoyant global aviation landscape.
