Virgin Atlantic Boosts London–Bengaluru Flights, Expands UK–India Air Connectivity

Virgin Atlantic has announced a significant enhancement to its services between London Heathrow and Bengaluru, increasing flight frequency from seven to 11 services per week during the peak travel months of January, February and March 2026. The move underlines growing demand on the route and further strengthens air links between the UK and India.

The additional services will operate alongside the airline’s existing daily flights to Bengaluru, a route that was launched in March 2024 and caters to both passenger and cargo traffic. The expanded schedule is aimed at offering greater flexibility and improved connectivity for business, leisure and tech-sector travellers.

India continues to be Virgin Atlantic’s largest growth market outside the United States, and the increased Bengaluru frequencies complement the airline’s double-daily services to Delhi and Mumbai from London Heathrow. The development also builds on Virgin Atlantic’s strategic partnership with IndiGo, enabling seamless onward connections to 33 domestic destinations across India, including Goa, Amritsar and Jaipur.

Widely known as India’s Silicon Valley, Bengaluru has emerged as one of the country’s fastest-growing technology and corporate hubs. The strengthened air services are expected to enhance direct connectivity with the UK while also providing smoother onward connections via London Heathrow to key North American cities, including Toronto, Seattle, San Francisco and New York (JFK), through Virgin Atlantic’s transatlantic joint venture with Delta Air Lines.

The Bengaluru route is operated using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, offering a three-cabin configuration with Upper Class, Premium and Economy seating, along with Virgin Atlantic’s signature Upper Class social space.

Since 2019, Virgin Atlantic has expanded its India capacity by nearly 250 per cent, now offering over half a million seats annually between the UK and India. The airline said the latest increase reflects sustained demand and its long-term commitment to the Indian market.

Commenting on the expansion, Juha Jaervinen, Chief Commercial Officer, Virgin Atlantic, said the enhanced Bengaluru schedule responds to strong customer demand and reinforces the airline’s focus on India as a key growth market. He added that the increased frequencies will offer greater choice for travellers while strengthening connectivity between India, the UK and North America through Virgin Atlantic and its partner airlines.
