The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has announced that it is evaluating six major global cities—Barcelona, Dubai, Geneva, Madrid, Milan, and Paris—as potential locations for its new office. The move follows strong expressions of interest from these destinations, each eager to strengthen ties with WTTC and enhance their standing in the global travel and tourism sector.
According to WTTC, the establishment of a new office aims to deliver key operational advantages, including lower costs, greater staff mobility, and improved access to global talent. These benefits will enable the organization to respond more effectively to evolving industry trends and foster deeper partnerships across established and emerging markets.
Each shortlisted city has presented a host of strategic incentives, such as favorable business conditions, fiscal advantages, streamlined administrative frameworks, and expedited visa processes for international staff and partners. Such offerings highlight their readiness to host WTTC and their shared commitment to driving sustainable growth within the travel and tourism ecosystem.
Gloria Guevara, Interim CEO and President of WTTC, expressed appreciation for the high level of engagement from all six contenders, noting, “Their interest and the incentives they have offered underscore the value they place on collaboration with WTTC.”
Manfredi Lefebvre, Chairman of WTTC, added, “This new office is envisioned as a global hub for collaboration, innovation, and sustainability in travel and tourism.”
WTTC confirmed that it is currently conducting a structured evaluation process, with a final decision on the selected location expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Further details will be shared as the assessment progresses.
