Rajasthan Shines at ITB Berlin 2025, Wins Prestigious PATWA Awards and Captivates Global Audience

The Department of Tourism (DOT), Government of Rajasthan, made a remarkable impact at ITB Berlin 2025, showcasing the state’s royal charm and cultural richness to a global audience. Rajasthan’s participation was highlighted by two prestigious PATWA (Pacific Area Travel Writers Association) Awards. H.E. Diya Kumari, Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, was honoured with the ‘Woman Tourism Minister of the Year’ award, while Rajasthan secured second place in the ‘Destination of the Year – Royal Experiences’ category, solidifying its status as a world-class tourism destination. 

The PATWA award ceremony, attended by tourism ministers from ten countries, industry leaders, and international media, underscored Rajasthan’s growing influence in global tourism. The Rajasthan Tourism booth, inaugurated by H.E. Ajit Gupte, Hon’ble Ambassador of India to Germany, became a focal point at ITB Berlin. Under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, the delegation, led by Shri Anand Tripathi, Additional Director, and Shri Upendra Shekhawat, Deputy Director of Rajasthan Tourism, showcased the state’s diverse offerings. 

Rajasthan’s vibrant booth featured its iconic forts, palaces, luxury experiences like the Palace on Wheels, and heritage hotels. Ethnic decoratives such as puppets, bird hangings, miniature elephants, and camels added a traditional touch, captivating visitors. The delegation also distributed German-language tourism literature, tailored to engage the German market effectively. 

On the second day, Rajasthan hosted a roadshow at its booth, attracting tour operators, travel agents, media representatives, and bloggers. The event included presentations by tourism officials and the Federation of Hospitality and Tourism of Rajasthan (FHTR), highlighting the state’s tourism products and safety measures for solo and women travelers. A captivating audio-visual presentation further showcased Rajasthan’s unique experiences. 

Over the three-day event, Rajasthan’s delegation held more than 50 strategic meetings with global tour operators, travel agents, and media, fostering partnerships and promoting the state as a must-visit destination. With its royal allure, cultural richness, and global recognition, Rajasthan continues to enchant travelers worldwide, reinforcing its position as a leading tourism hub.
