
The Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) is set to host its prestigious 41st Annual Convention from 10th to 13th September 2026 in Visakhapatnam, a scenic coastal destination widely known as the “City of Destiny” and the “Jewel of the East Coast.”
The flagship industry event will be आयोजित with the full support of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Key state leadership, including Kandula Durgesh, Minister of Tourism, Culture & Cinematography; Ajay Jain; and Amrapali Kata, have extended their cooperation to ensure the convention’s success.
Sharing insights, Ravi Gosain, President, IATO, stated that the theme and key highlights of the convention are being carefully curated to address emerging opportunities and evolving challenges within the tourism sector.
The iconic Novotel Visakhapatnam Varun Beach will serve as the official venue, hosting registrations, the inaugural ceremony, business sessions, and evening programmes. The inaugural session on 10th September is expected to be graced by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and the Union Minister of Tourism, Government of India, along with senior officials from the Ministry of Tourism and representatives from 17–18 State Tourism Departments.
Highlighting the scale of the event, Sanjay Razdan, Vice President, IATO, shared that the association is targeting participation from 900–1000 delegates across the country. Curated post-convention tours will also be organised, offering delegates an opportunity to experience Andhra Pradesh’s diverse tourism offerings and promote them across domestic and international markets.
The three-day convention will feature high-powered business sessions, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, and domain experts to deliberate on key issues shaping the future of tourism.
Blending business with engagement, the event will include a range of vibrant activities such as the “IATO Run for Responsible Tourism,” recognition awards across multiple categories, and evening entertainment programmes. Adding a unique touch, the convention will also host “IATO’s Got Talent – Karaoke Singing Competition.”
A major highlight will be the Indian Tourism Fair (Travel Mart), scheduled for 11th and 12th September at the venue. This platform is expected to facilitate meaningful interactions between IATO members, State Tourism Boards, and industry stakeholders, fostering partnerships and driving sectoral growth.
With strong participation, strategic focus, and a rich cultural backdrop, the 41st IATO Annual Convention is poised to be a landmark industry gathering, further strengthening India’s position as a leading global tourism destination.
