In the darkest years of terrorism in Kashmir, even then, one thing remained untouched — tourism. It was recognized by all, including those on the wrong side of the law, as the lifeline of Kashmir’s economy. But now, with the winds of change sweeping the Valley and peace slowly taking root, the very foundation of this progress has come under attack.
Following the peaceful and successful elections, there was a visible shift in the mood of the people. Hope had returned. The youth, once torn between conflict and confusion, were now beginning to dream — of growth, careers, and a better tomorrow. For the first time in decades, a sense of normalcy had started to blossom.
But peace in Kashmir is not in the interest of our hostile neighbor. Pakistan, through its network of terror, has once again revealed its true colors — by striking where it hurts the most. In a cowardly and calculated move, terrorists targeted innocent tourists in Pahalgam, the very symbol of Kashmir’s revival and prosperity.
This was not just an act of violence — it was a desperate attempt to derail progress. By attacking tourism, they aim to cripple the local economy, shatter confidence, and push the youth back into the vortex of militancy and unrest. No business, no growth — and their agenda thrives.
But this time, they have committed a grave miscalculation. The people of Kashmir have risen in one voice — against Pakistan and against the terror it exports. There is no room left for their narrative. Kashmiris are standing firm, shoulder to shoulder with the rest of India, to protect their dreams, their dignity, and their future.
We must all come together — citizens, media, government, and security forces — to thwart this agenda. Let us not allow fear to dictate our path. Let us support Kashmiri tourism with even greater conviction, travel to the Valley, share its beauty with the world, and ensure that the message is clear: **we will not be divided, we will not be deterred.**
In solidarity with every peace-loving Kashmiri, we say — we stand united. Together, we will not let terrorism win.
