‘Whispers of the Heart’ Book Launch Celebrates Literature, Introspection and the Power of Inner Growth in New Delhi

In an elegant evening celebrating literature, introspection and the beauty of human emotions, author  Kanwarjit Singh Sawhney’s  latest literary offering,  “Whispers of the Heart,”  was officially launched at  Zorba – The Convention Centre, located at   Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi , in the presence of some of the most respected names from India’s tourism, hospitality and travel fraternity.

The book was formally unveiled by  Mr. Suman Billa, IAS, Additional Secretary & Director General,   Ministry of Tourism, Government of India , who praised the significance of storytelling in shaping perspectives and preserving the emotional experiences that define human life. Emphasising the enduring value of literature, he commended the author for bringing heartfelt narratives to readers that resonate beyond mere words.

The prestigious gathering saw the attendance of several eminent personalities including  Mr. Subhash Goyal, Mrs. Jyoti Mayal, Mr. Vikram Madok, Mr. Rajiv Mehra, Mr. Nakul Anand, Mr. Sandeep Marwah, Mrs. Anu Sood, and internationally acclaimed motivational speaker and author   Mr. Shiv Khera , alongside distinguished members of the tourism and hospitality sectors.

However, what transformed the evening from a ceremonial book launch into a deeply reflective affair were the powerful thoughts shared by  Shiv Khera , whose words beautifully captured the soul of the book.

Drawing a distinction between material success and spiritual nourishment, Khera remarked:

“What we earn externally—money, buildings, status—are fruits. But what we earn for our inner self are roots. One may live without fruits for some time, but cannot survive without roots.”

His observation set the tone for understanding the deeper essence of Whispers of the Heart—a book that, according to attendees, is not merely meant to be read, but to be experienced.

Far beyond conventional storytelling, “Whispers of the Heart” invites readers into a journey of self-reflection, emotional awareness and introspection, gently encouraging individuals to pause amidst life’s chaos and reconnect with truths often buried beneath routine and ambition.

Offering his personal reflection on the book, Editor Anil Sharma remarked that the literary work possesses a rare ability to emotionally engage the reader from the very first page. “I found myself so deeply absorbed in the book that I continued reading until nearly 2 a.m., unable to put it down. It is one of those rare works that compels you to keep turning pages—not merely because of curiosity, but because every chapter speaks to your inner self,” he shared.

He further noted that the book acts as a mirror to one’s conscience, offering readers the rare opportunity for  ‘aatma-manthan’—deep inner contemplation and soul-searching. According to him,  Whispers of the Heart does not simply narrate stories, but gently introduces readers to life’s deeper truths—truths often known, yet seldom acknowledged amidst the distractions of modern life.

In an era where literature is often consumed for entertainment, Whispers of the Heart appears to serve a different purpose altogether: it provides  food for thought , urging readers to reflect on their own life choices, relationships, beliefs and emotional depth. Through its pages, Sawhney not only introduces readers to his worldview and personal philosophy, but also subtly opens a window into the values, culture and thought process that have shaped his journey and family ethos.

Those familiar with the author describe the work as an extension of Sawhney’s personality—thoughtful, kind-hearted, reflective and deeply rooted in human values. The narratives and reflections within the book are said to gently remind readers of many truths they already know in their hearts, yet often fail to consciously acknowledge in the rush of everyday life. The thematic focus on introspection and emotional resonance aligns with broader descriptions of similarly titled reflective literary works centered on love, longing, and the human condition.

The evening concluded with engaging conversations, book signings and vibrant networking among guests, symbolising the growing intersection of  literature, travel, tourism and hospitality , while reaffirming the capital’s place as a hub for meaningful cultural exchange.

With Whispers of the Heart, Kanwarjit Singh Sawhney has delivered more than a book—he has offered readers an invitation to pause, think and reconnect with the often-overlooked whispers within themselves
