PATA Annual Summit 2025 Concludes in Istanbul with Renewed Vision for Sustainable Tourism

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) successfully hosted the PATA Annual Summit 2025 (PAS 2025) from April 21–23 at the CVK Park Bosphorus Hotel in Istanbul, Türkiye. Organized with support from the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) and Turkish Airlines, the summit convened over 260 global delegates from 35 destinations under the theme “Timeless Wisdom for a Sustainable Future.”

PAS 2025 served as a strategic milestone for PATA, featuring key internal developments including the ratification of a new Vision and Mission, approval of its Executive Board, and critical progress on the PATA Strategy 2030. These moves aim to position PATA as a more agile, inclusive, and impact-focused leader in sustainable tourism across the Asia Pacific.

PATA Chair Peter Semone opened the main conference with a powerful call for purpose-driven tourism, highlighting the need to prioritize peace, nature, and community over mere growth. PATA CEO Noor Ahmad Hamid emphasized tourism’s emotional value, calling on stakeholders to commit to travel that uplifts, heals, and endures.

The summit featured 40+ thought leaders from organizations such as UN Tourism, Mastercard, Airbnb, Amadeus, Tripadvisor, and Skyscanner. Program highlights included the PATA Policy Forum on sustainability, climate-focused panels, and sessions on digital nomads, AI in tourism, and workforce development. A standout new feature, “Ask the PATA Experts,” offered delegates one-on-one consultations in areas such as climate adaptation and policy innovation.

With global representation from Australia, India, Japan, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, the USA, and beyond, PAS 2025 reinforced PATA’s commitment to shaping a resilient and responsible tourism future through collaboration, innovation, and leadership.
