
Showcasing the vibrant rhythm of tribal life and culture, the ‘Wayanad Vibes’ mega musical event organized by Kerala’s Department of Tourism captivated audiences at Valliyoorkkavu Ground in Mananthavady. Tourism Minister Shri P A Mohamed Riyas inaugurated the event, announcing that ‘Wayanad Vibes’ will now be held annually to strengthen Wayanad’s profile as a must-visit tourism destination. Highlighting the district’s record-breaking tourist arrivals last year, Shri Riyas emphasized new marketing campaigns and hospitality upgrades, including renovated guest houses that generated an additional Rs 25 crore through online bookings. The event honoured renowned percussionist Sivamani, musician Stephen Devassy, and playback singers Haricharan and Sikha Prabhakaran. Minister Shri O.R. Kelu, presiding over the function, noted the festival’s role in reviving Wayanad’s tourism initiatives. Tribal troupe ‘Thudithalam’ opened the evening with traditional performances, while electrifying shows by Sivamani, Devassy, Haricharan, and Sikha Prabhakaran enthralled the audience. Directed by filmmaker TK Rajeev Kumar, ‘Wayanad Vibes’ successfully celebrated the district’s rich cultural heritage and tourism potential.
