Etihad Airways and TAP Air Portugal Launch Frequent Flyer Partnership to Expand Loyalty Benefits

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, and TAP Air Portugal, Portugal’s flag carrier, have announced a new frequent flyer partnership, enabling members of both loyalty programmes—Etihad Guest and TAP Miles&Go—to earn and redeem miles across each other’s global networks.

The partnership allows Etihad Guest members to use their miles not only for flights but also for worldwide hotel stays, holidays, and a variety of products from the Etihad Guest Reward Shop. Similarly, TAP Miles&Go members can redeem their miles for flights and exclusive offers, including products available on the TAP Store.

This new loyalty tie-up builds on the strategic codeshare agreement the two airlines formed in 2023, which has significantly enhanced connectivity between their networks. The partnership gives travellers more flexibility and destination options across the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, and the Middle East. Etihad Guest members will now be able to earn miles on TAP-operated flights to cities like Los Angeles, Rio de Janeiro, and Cancun, while TAP Miles&Go members can explore Etihad’s expanding destinations including Chiang Mai, Hong Kong, and Medan.

Mark Potter, Managing Director of Etihad Guest, stated, “We’re excited to launch this frequent flyer partnership with TAP Air Portugal, giving our members even more ways to earn and spend miles across a wider network. Our focus remains on enhancing the Etihad Guest experience and delivering greater value wherever our members travel.” Pedro Flores Ribeiro, Director of TAP Miles&Go, added, “This partnership is a fantastic opportunity for our members to explore new destinations with Etihad Airways while enjoying the benefits of our loyalty programme. We also look forward to welcoming Etihad Guest members to experience TAP’s extensive network and renowned Portuguese hospitality.
