Madhya Pradesh Tourism Showcases Cultural Splendor at Roadshow in Osaka, Japan

Madhya Pradesh Tourism successfully hosted a vibrant and engaging roadshow in Osaka, Japan, as part of its global outreach strategy to promote India’s heartland as a preferred travel destination for Japanese tourists. The event was led by Mr. Sheo Shekhar Shukla, IAS, Principal Secretary, Tourism & Culture, Government of Madhya Pradesh and Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board (MPTB), accompanied by Mr. Vivek Jude, Deputy Director, Events & Marketing, MPTB, and Mr. Neelam Singh, Director, Travel India Tourism.

Representing both Travel India Tourism as Managing Director and serving as Chairman of the IATO Madhya Pradesh Chapter, Mr. Neelam Singh expressed pride in participating in the event that aimed to build meaningful tourism partnerships and showcase the state’s rich heritage to the Japanese travel trade.

The roadshow attracted strong participation from Osaka’s travel industry and was further enriched by the presence of eminent dignitaries. These included Mr. Chandru Appar, Consul General of India at Osaka-Kobe; Ms. Garima Mittal, IAS, Director of the India Pavilion at the upcoming Osaka Expo 2025; Mr. Sho Hideki, Chief Director, JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization); Mr. Yamashita Yoshio, Director of International Affairs, Wakayama Prefectural Government; and Mr. Yutaka Konishi, Deputy Secretary-General, Kansai Japan-India Association.

The session featured an immersive experience highlighting the tourism potential of Madhya Pradesh through engaging presentations, captivating audio-visual content, and an interactive quiz. The audience was introduced to the state’s diverse offerings—from UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Khajuraho and Sanchi to its vibrant wildlife, ancient temples, spiritual destinations, and tribal culture.

Positioned as the “Heart of Incredible India,” Madhya Pradesh is seeking to enhance its visibility among international travellers, particularly from Asia-Pacific regions like Japan. The roadshow served as a platform to forge new collaborations with Japanese travel professionals and invite them to explore India’s spiritual, cultural, and natural diversity through the unique experiences Madhya Pradesh offers.
