PM Modi Inaugurates New Terminal at Patna Airport, Lays Foundation for Bihta Civil Enclave to Boost Bihar’s Air Connectivity

In a major push to enhance Bihar’s aviation infrastructure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated the new terminal building of Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport in Patna and laid the foundation stone for a civil enclave at Bihta airport, located on the outskirts of the city. The newly inaugurated terminal, built at a cost of INR 1,200 crore, aims to decongest the existing airport and offer modern facilities to passengers. Simultaneously, the INR 1,410 crore civil enclave project at Bihta is set to expand long-term aviation capacity for the region.

The inauguration ceremony at Patna airport was attended by key political figures including Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, along with other dignitaries. This strategic infrastructure upgrade is expected to significantly enhance air connectivity, improve passenger experience, and spur economic development across Bihar.

Together, the new terminal and Bihta civil enclave represent a transformative step in modernizing Bihar’s transport infrastructure, aligning with the rising demand for air travel and preparing the state capital to handle future air traffic growth efficiently.
