Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company has announced the appointment of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son as its new Managing Director, marking a significant step in the airline’s global expansion and growth strategy. Mr. Son takes over from Mr. Dinh Viet Phuong and will lead the new-age carrier into its next phase of innovation, connectivity, and sustainability.
The announcement comes at a time when Vietjet is rapidly increasing its global footprint, with particular focus on the Indian market. The airline currently operates 78 weekly flights connecting major Indian cities such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Kochi to key Southeast Asian destinations, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang.
A founding member of Vietjet, Mr. Son has been instrumental in crafting the airline’s dynamic business and marketing strategies since its inception. He brings over 30 years of experience in the aviation industry and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration along with a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Economics. Known for his visionary leadership and global outlook, Mr. Son is admired for his humility and continuous learning approach.
