
Reinforcing its status as India’s premier wedding hotspot, Goa has been honored with the title of ‘Best Destination for Resort Weddings’ at the Wed In India 2025 Awards, held recently at the Taj Palace, New Delhi. The prestigious award was received by Shri Sanjeev Ahuja, IAS, Secretary (Tourism), Government of Goa, on behalf of the state.
Goa’s vibrant mix of luxury resorts, sun-kissed beaches, Portuguese-era heritage venues, and tropical charm has long made it a favorite for destination weddings. The award recognizes Goa’s consistent performance in offering world-class experiences that seamlessly blend natural beauty with hospitality excellence.
Hon’ble Tourism Minister Shri Rohan A. Khaunte expressed his pride in the achievement, stating, “Our unique blend of luxury, culture, and natural beauty continues to inspire couples to choose Goa for their special celebrations. We remain committed to strengthening infrastructure and services that support the wedding industry, ensuring each celebration contributes positively to the local economy and community.”
Echoing this sentiment, Secretary (Tourism) Shri Sanjeev Ahuja, IAS highlighted Goa’s competitive edge, saying, “Goa is an ideal location for resort weddings, with its beautiful heritage sites, world-class resorts, and immersive cultural experiences. This award motivates us to keep enhancing our offerings, ensuring that every destination wedding adds tangible value to the economy and creates employment opportunities for our people.”
