Cambodia’s tourism industry is showing strong signs of post-pandemic recovery, according to the latest Cambodia Tourism Statistics Report 2025. Released by the national government, the mid-year update highlights significant growth in both international and domestic travel.
From January to May 2025, Cambodia welcomed 2.95 million international tourists, marking an 11.7% year-on-year increase. The country also witnessed a surge in domestic travel, with 13.17 million Cambodian travelers, up nearly 50% compared to mid-2024.
Report author Oun emphasized the sector’s resilience, stating: “These figures highlight the strength of Cambodia’s tourism industry. While seasonal trends impacted Q2 arrivals, the overall trajectory remains positive, with both regional and domestic travel driving growth.”
The report also revealed that Cambodia earned US$3.64 million in tourism revenues in the first half of 2025, with the sector contributing 9.4% to the nation’s GDP. Notably, arrivals from China grew by 50% year-on-year, reinforcing Cambodia’s role as an attractive destination for regional travelers.
Although Q2-2025 recorded a 29.7% decline in international arrivals, experts attribute the dip to global economic fluctuations and seasonal factors, rather than a long-term downturn.
Looking ahead, Cambodia’s tourism industry is expected to maintain momentum into late 2025 and beyond, supported by infrastructure improvements, regional partnerships, and enhanced connectivity.
