
The Indian Tourist Transporters Association (ITTA) recently marked a significant milestone by successfully hosting its first Regional Meeting in Mumbai. Organized by the Western Regional Committee, the event brought together members, stakeholders, industry experts, and transport leaders, creating a powerful platform to discuss growth, innovation, and the future of tourist transport in India.
The program commenced with a special training session for drivers, where participants from ITTA member companies and transport operators across Maharashtra actively engaged in interactive sessions. Conducted under the guidance of ITTA’s Hon. Secretary, the training followed Ministry of Tourism guidelines and concluded with inspiring messages from ITTA’s leadership and senior industry experts. Every driver was proudly presented with a certificate endorsed by ITTA and the Ministry of Tourism, along with thoughtful return gifts a gesture that made the occasion even more memorable.
The second part of the event focused on fleet owners and the role of electric vehicles (EVs) in shaping the future of the industry. Presentations by leading EV manufacturers highlighted the immense opportunities for clean mobility and generated keen interest among participants eager to adopt sustainable practices.
A special highlight of the gathering was the felicitation of industry veterans Mr. Pankaj Jain, Mr. Sunil Mangal, Mr. Rajiv Patodia, and Mr. Anil Kedia who were honoured for their decades of service and contributions to the transport sector. The Chief Guest, Mr. Vivek Bhimnawar, Commissioner of Transport, Government of Maharashtra, shared valuable insights on compliance, safety, and future opportunities, while assuring his commitment to addressing key bottlenecks faced by operators.
The event also saw the participation of notable dignitaries including Mr. Prasanna Patwardhan, President of the Bus and Car Confederation of India; ITTA leaders Mr. Satish Sehrawat and Mr. K.S. Sawhney; South Regional Chairman Mr. Ramesh Babu; and representatives from MG Motors, Citroën Motors, Aditi Tracking, Group Landmark, and other leading enterprises.
The meeting concluded on a celebratory note with the distribution of membership certificates, entertainment sessions, and a networking dinner that left participants praising the impeccable arrangements and collaborative spirit.
