South African Tourism is set to launch the fifth edition of its flagship Corporate Think Tank in India, underscoring its commitment to positioning South Africa as a premier MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) destination across key Indian cities Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, and Kolkata. Scheduled between September 2025 and January 2026, this series targets corporate leaders and decision-makers from sectors like IT, pharmaceuticals, and financial services to explore evolving business growth, sustainable event strategies, and the future landscape of MICE travel. Led by Ms. Deepika Nair, Acting Trade Manager of South African Tourism, the initiative also aims to expand beyond traditional metro hubs, tapping emerging business centers to foster inclusivity and accessibility. The events will highlight South Africa’s blend of world-class business infrastructure, cultural vibrancy, and leisure opportunities, reinforcing its capability to host large-scale corporate events with a focus on sustainability, digital transformation, and innovative team-building programs.
India remains vital to South Africa’s MICE strategy, with Indian business and MICE travelers accounting for nearly half of Indian arrivals to the country in 2024, including a 20.2% contribution from MICE tourism alone. This Think Tank series aims to build on that momentum by deepening engagement with India’s corporate community through interactive discussions and strategic networking, driving sustained growth in this dynamic segment. South African Tourism’s approach includes showcasing experiential business-ready solutions alongside leisure appeal, reinforcing its vision of South Africa as the leading MICE destination with cost-effective and world-class offerings tailored for Indian corporates. This initiative further solidifies South Africa’s reputation as a growing hub for global business events and a preferred long-haul destination for Indian business travelers.
This comprehensive Corporate Think Tank series is a key pillar in South African Tourism’s broader strategy to elevate its MICE offerings, foster long-term corporate partnerships, and tap into the evolving preferences of Indian corporates for innovative, sustainable, and culturally immersive business travel experiences.
