India’s association ecosystem witnessed a landmark moment with the official launch of the Society of Association Executives (SAE) at the Hilton, Embassy Manyata Business Park, Bengaluru. SAE marks the
nation’s first unified platform dedicated to empowering association leaders, enhancing professional excellence, and fostering global collaboration.
The initiative is a strategic collaboration between GConvene, led by Ms. Kalpana Uberoi, and international association management expert Mr. Gregg H. Talley. Together, they aim to strengthen India’s association landscape by integrating global best practices and building a
cohesive ecosystem for industry growth.
Delivering the keynote, Dr. Ramesh S. Bilimagga, President of SAE, said:
“Strong associations don’t just serve industries — they reshape them. They don’t just support communities — they elevate them.”
Dr. Ishwar Gilada, General Secretary, highlighted SAE’s vision of connecting Indian associations with their global counterparts to enable shared
learning, advocacy, and innovation.
Calling the launch “perfectly timed,” Mr. Gregg Talley noted that with over 10 million associations worldwide driving economic progress, India is poised to become a central player in this global movement.
A highlight of the launch was the unveiling of SAE’s digital ecosystem — a comprehensive online platform serving as a hub for leadership development, knowledge
exchange, and networking. Aligning strategically with global counterparts such as ASAE (American Society of Association Executives), ESAE (European Society of Association Executives), and AfSAE (African Society of Association Executives), SAE positions India as a new hub for association excellence and collaboration.
Summing up SAE’s mission, Ms. Uberoi stated:
“When associations grow
stronger, entire ecosystems transform. SAE is amplifying that collective voice to shape India’s future and influence the world.”
