India strengthened its tourism outreach in Europe as the Ministry of Tourism hosted the Incredible India Press Conference on the opening day of ITB Berlin 2026 in Berlin.
The interaction with global media was attended by Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat along with Ajit Gupte, who highlighted India’s expanding tourism landscape and the country’s growing engagement with international travel markets.
During the briefing, the minister emphasised that India’s tourism sector is witnessing strong growth, supported by major investments in infrastructure, improved international air connectivity and enhanced digital services designed to make travel more seamless for visitors. Officials also underlined the country’s diverse tourism offerings ranging from heritage circuits and spiritual tourism to wellness, nature and experiential travel products.

The press conference also served as a platform to strengthen India’s engagement with European travel media and industry stakeholders. Germany continues to be one of the key source markets for inbound tourism to India, and the government is actively working to expand partnerships with tour operators, airlines and travel platforms across the region.
Held annually in Berlin, ITB is widely regarded as the world’s largest travel trade exhibition, bringing together tourism boards, airlines, hospitality companies and travel professionals from across the globe. India’s presence at the event aims to further promote the country as a year-round destination for culture, wellness and experiential travel.
