The world’s leading travel trade fair, ITB Berlin 2026, concluded on Thursday after three days of meetings and discussions among global tourism stakeholders. Rajasthan Tourism used the platform to present the state’s heritage, culture and tourism experiences to the international travel industry, drawing steady visitor interest at Pavilion 200.
A delegation from the Rajasthan Tourism Department attended the fair under the leadership of Tourism Commissioner Rukmani Riar. She was accompanied by Additional Director Pawan Jain and Joint Director Dr Puneeta Singh, who engaged with representatives from the global travel trade during the event.
The Rajasthan pavilion, designed with elements inspired by traditional regional architecture, highlighted the state’s historic forts, palaces, desert landscapes, wildlife destinations and living cultural traditions. Travel professionals and visitors from across the world visited the pavilion to explore tourism opportunities in Rajasthan.
During the fair, Rajasthan Tourism officials held meetings with tour operators, travel agents and tourism companies from Germany and other European countries to explore opportunities for business cooperation and travel promotion in the European market.
A roadshow organised at the pavilion attracted around 35 travel bloggers and digital influencers. The session showcased Rajasthan’s tourism offerings, including heritage circuits, desert safaris, festivals, wildlife experiences and local traditions.
Visitors also took part in a Rajasthan-themed quiz, adding an interactive dimension to the pavilion. Winners received traditional Rajasthani souvenirs, while guests were offered Indian snacks representing the state’s hospitality.
Speaking during meetings with European tour operators, Riar highlighted architectural similarities between Rajasthan’s historic forts and fortifications in parts of Germany, noting that both regions share a legacy of defensive structures built on elevated terrain.
The Rajasthan pavilion was earlier inaugurated in the presence of Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Ajit Vinayak Gupte.
Over the three-day fair, the Rajasthan delegation participated in several B2B meetings and networking sessions, presenting heritage circuits, cultural festivals and experience-based tourism options to international travel companies.
Europe remains an important source market for Rajasthan tourism, with travellers from Germany, France and the United Kingdom continuing to show strong interest in the state’s historic architecture, crafts and cultural experiences.
Participation in ITB Berlin is expected to further strengthen Rajasthan Tourism’s engagement with European travel companies and support growth in international visitor arrivals in the coming years.
