Uttar Pradesh Approves ₹33.91 Crore Tourism Push for Firozabad, Strengthening Religious and Heritage Infrastructure

Uttar Pradesh has approved 24 tourism development projects worth ₹33.91 crore for Firozabad, signalling a major push to position the district as an emerging religious and heritage tourism destination.
The initiative focuses on upgrading temples, spiritual centres, heritage sites and visitor infrastructure across Tundla, Shikohabad, Sirsaganj and Jasrana, while improving accessibility and on-ground tourism facilities.

Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said the projects are aimed at enhancing facilities for pilgrims and tourists while preserving the region’s cultural identity and supporting local livelihoods.
The move comes amid a broader infrastructure push in the district, with local MLA Manish Asija actively pursuing multiple connectivity and development initiatives for the region. Industry observers note that the combined focus on infrastructure and tourism development could help expand Firozabad’s profile beyond its traditional glass industry identity.

Among the projects approved are upgrades to prominent religious and heritage sites including Goga Ji Kali Temple, Paseene Wale Hanuman Ji Temple, Siddhkali Mata Temple and the ancient Pathwari Mata Temple, along with tourism-linked improvements at ashrams and public spaces.

The development reflects Uttar Pradesh’s broader tourism strategy of promoting smaller cities through structured, experience-led religious and cultural tourism offerings.
