Rajasthan CM promotes state’s tourism potential at London event

Continuing his investor outreach ahead of the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma showcased the state’s vast tourism potential at a special meet held in London on Saturday last week.

Speaking at the Rising Rajasthan Tourism Meet at the Taj Hotel, CM Sharma highlighted Rajasthan’s cultural richness, scenic beauty, and growing appeal to both domestic and international tourists.

Addressing an audience of tourism professionals, investors, and travel enthusiasts from the UK, Sharma proudly noted that Rajasthan is a major destination for visitors to India. “Every third tourist that visits India, visits Rajasthan,” said the Chief Minister, emphasizing the state’s indispensable role in India’s tourism landscape. He described Rajasthan as a must-visit destination, known globally for its heritage, historic landmarks, and captivating landscapes.

Sharma also shared impressive figures from the state’s tourism sector. In FY 2022/23, Rajasthan welcomed 180 million domestic tourists, a 65% increase compared to the previous year. “Rajasthan is a shining star in tourism. The significant rise in tourist numbers reflects the growing attraction and opportunities within the state,” he said, attributing this surge to Rajasthan’s unmatched cultural heritage and hospitality.

Highlighting the importance of the UK market, CM Sharma explained that Rajasthan continues to draw large numbers of British tourists, particularly during the peak travel season between December and January. “Every year, tourists from the UK flock to our state. We have to make additional arrangements in hotels across Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur, and Udaipur to accommodate the demand during this period,” Sharma remarked.

In a direct appeal to the UK audience, CM Sharma invited investors to explore opportunities in Rajasthan’s tourism sector, noting the state’s ideal investment climate. “Rajasthan has become a center of attraction not only for tourists but also for investors. With its rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and global connectivity, Rajasthan is an ideal place for investment. The state is full of possibilities,” he added.

The Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, to be held from December 9 to 11 in Jaipur, will serve as a platform to showcase the state’s potential across various sectors, including tourism. The summit will feature plenary sessions on agriculture, renewable energy, education, infrastructure, startups, and more.
