Middle East carrier Oman Air has appointed InterGlobe Air Transport (IGAT) as its exclusive General Sales Agent (GSA) for India, aiming to bolster its presence and enhance customer service in the region. Announcing the partnership, Siddhanta Sharma, President and CEO of IGAT, stated that the collaboration would offer seamless connectivity and elevate the travel experience for Indian customers while driving Oman Air’s growth in the Indian market.
As part of its mandate, IGAT will provide comprehensive sales and service support, including passenger airline management, sales and marketing, reservations, ticketing, and contact center operations. This partnership is expected to leverage IGAT’s extensive network and expertise to strengthen Oman Air’s operations and offerings across India.
Highlighting India as a key market, Sunil V A, Regional Vice President for ISC (Commercial Sales) at Oman Air, expressed excitement about the strategic alliance, emphasizing that it would enable the airline to expand its footprint and enhance services for Indian travelers. Oman Air currently operates over 90 weekly flights connecting 10 Indian cities to its Muscat hub.
Founded in 1989, IGAT has a strong track record of representing some of the world’s largest airlines in India, along with expertise in cargo sales, car rentals, and hotel bookings. The partnership between IGAT and Oman Air is poised to streamline operations and improve the travel experience for passengers in one of the Gulf airline’s most important markets.
