Air India Express Launches Daily Dehradun–Bengaluru Flights, Boosting Uttarakhand’s Connectivity

Air India Express has officially commenced operations from Dehradun Airport with the launch of a daily direct flight to Bengaluru, marking a major milestone for civil aviation in Uttarakhand. The inaugural flight on the Dehradun–Bengaluru route was flagged off by Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, in the presence of senior dignitaries. Welcoming the airline, the Chief Minister highlighted that enhanced connectivity with Bengaluru will significantly boost tourism, trade, and investment opportunities in the state, while also strengthening ties for students, professionals, and entrepreneurs with one of India’s fastest-growing cities.

From September 15, the new service departs Dehradun at 16:30 and arrives in Bengaluru at 19:30, with the return flight leaving Bengaluru at 12:50 and reaching Dehradun at 16:00, operating daily. This launch gives travelers from Dehradun convenient one-stop connectivity to 18 cities across India, including Chennai, Goa, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mangaluru, North Goa, Pune, Ranchi, Thiruvananthapuram, Tiruchirappalli, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam via Bengaluru.

Aloke Singh, Managing Director of Air India Express, said, “We are delighted to commence operations from Dehradun, our 58th station, with daily direct flights to Bengaluru, our largest domestic hub. This is the third new station launched this month, following Ahmedabad and Chandigarh, underscoring the rapid expansion of our network. With our fleet now crossing 115 aircraft, we are scaling up to build a stronger, more accessible network that reflects the aspirations of modern India.”

Adding a cultural touch, the new Boeing 737-8 operating the route features a special livery inspired by ‘Aipan,’ Uttarakhand’s traditional art form of floor and wall paintings, as part of Air India Express’s ‘Tales of India’ initiative celebrating the country’s rich artistic heritage. The launch underscores the airline’s vision of expanding connectivity while celebrating regional culture across its growing network.
