Akasa Air has announced the establishment of Akasa Air Leasing IFSC Private Limited at GIFT City – Gandhinagar, strengthening the airline’s aircraft financing and leasing capabilities.
The new entity is expected to support Akasa Air’s long-term fleet expansion strategy while improving flexibility, cost efficiency and access to global capital markets.
According to the airline, the GIFT City- Gandhinagar, platform will gradually finance a majority of its aircraft acquisitions and help deepen India’s onshore aircraft leasing ecosystem.
Akasa Air said the initiative aligns with the Government of India’s vision of positioning GIFT City as a global aviation financing hub.
Priya Mehra, Chief of Governance and Strategic Acquisitions at Akasa Air, said the new entity will help the airline build stronger long-term partnerships with global lessors while supporting large-scale expansion plans.
