Etihad Airways has revealed a striking new livery showcasing the bold yellow and blue colors of its Indian Premier League partner, Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The new design adorns the airline’s first Airbus A320neo, a fuel-efficient aircraft set to operate on short-haul routes. Its inaugural flight will depart in December to CSK’s home base in Chennai, India, delighting fans in the city.
Arik De, Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, expressed pride in the partnership, emphasizing the airline’s commitment to the Indian market. The new livery celebrates the global appeal of cricket, with Etihad’s expanding network bringing CSK’s colors to millions of fans worldwide.
Etihad became an official sponsor of CSK for the 2024 IPL season, launching the partnership in February with a special ceremony in Chennai. The airline has engaged fans with unique activations, including distributing aircraft-shaped whistles for the iconic ‘whistle podu’ cheer.
The airline operates 181 weekly flights to 11 Indian cities, connecting passengers to destinations across the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and North America. Etihad recently expanded its India network with new routes to Kozhikode, Thiruvananthapuram, and Jaipur, while increasing frequencies to Mumbai and Delhi.
