Goa’s Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant, and Tourism Minister Shri Rohan A. Khaunte unveiled a series of transformative digital and tourism initiatives at a ceremony held in Porvorim. The initiatives, aimed at enhancing digital infrastructure and tourism experiences, include:
- Free Public WiFi Hotspots at 75 locations across the state for seamless connectivity.
- Installation of 11 BSNL 4G towers to improve mobile network coverage.
- Launch of the Let’s Goa platform, a user-friendly portal to help tourists explore Goa.
- Introduction of the One Map Goa GIS portal, aiding in spatial planning, infrastructure development, and governance.
Chief Minister Dr. Sawant emphasized the role of these initiatives in advancing Goa’s digital and tourism ecosystem, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India vision. He stated, “These steps ensure digital inclusion, smart governance, and a modern tourism ecosystem.”
Tourism Minister Shri Khaunte highlighted the transformative impact of these initiatives, saying, “WiFi hotspots, 4G towers, the GIS Portal, and Let’s Goa platform bridge gaps, empower citizens, and boost tourism and local businesses.”
The Let’s Goa platform integrates over 100 hotels, 50 activity providers, and GTDC residencies, streamlining bookings and showcasing Goa’s heritage, wellness, and adventure tourism offerings.
This launch is a significant step towards making Goa a digitally connected, inclusive, and tourism-driven state, blending tradition with technology.
