The Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) has appointed tourism industry veteran Vijay Mohan as Co-Chairman for its Andhra Pradesh Chapter, a move aimed at strengthening the association’s regional outreach and enhancing engagement with tourism stakeholders in the state.
Vijay Mohan has been associated with the travel and tourism industry since 1998 and brings nearly three decades of experience across various segments of the sector. IATO believes his industry understanding and regional connect will play an important role in strengthening the association’s presence in Andhra Pradesh while also supporting membership expansion initiatives in the region.
The appointment is also expected to further improve coordination between the travel trade and tourism authorities in Andhra Pradesh. With the state actively focusing on tourism development, spiritual circuits, coastal tourism and infrastructure expansion, industry bodies are increasingly looking at stronger collaboration with local stakeholders to create new business opportunities and promote the destination more effectively.
Given Vijay Mohan’s longstanding association with tourism stakeholders and officials in Andhra Pradesh, IATO is optimistic about working more closely with the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department to support tourism promotion efforts and industry participation from the state.
Industry observers believe that stronger regional representation within national travel associations can help improve communication between policymakers and tourism businesses, while also encouraging wider participation from local tour operators and hospitality stakeholders.
