IndiGo has introduced a new non-stop connection between Kolkata and Siem Reap, giving eastern India its first direct air link to Cambodia’s iconic temple city. The service, operated by an Airbus A320neo, began on 13 November 2025 and runs three times a week, offering travellers a quicker, smoother route to the world-famous Angkor archaeological complex.
The schedule is designed for convenience, with late-night departures from Kolkata and same-morning arrivals in Siem Reap — allowing passengers to begin sightseeing the very day they land. The new link eliminates the need for multi-stop itineraries that previously made the journey longer and less appealing.
Tourism stakeholders expect the route to boost outbound travel from Bengal and neighbouring eastern states, encouraging short cultural breaks focused on Angkor Wat, local handicraft markets, and Siem Reap’s growing leisure offerings. The direct service is also expected to give tour operators fresh opportunities to build compact, high-demand itineraries for the region.
Travellers are advised to book early, especially during peak holiday months, and to check updated visa and entry requirements before finalising plans.
