Israel Announces 90-Day Passport Validity Requirement for Visitors Starting January 2025

Effective January 1, 2025, foreign nationals visiting Israel on a B2 visitor visa must hold a passport valid for at least 90 days from their arrival date.

This policy aligns with the upcoming requirement for visa-exempt travelers to complete an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA-IL) before entering Israel. The changes aim to:

  • Ensure consistency between visitor visa duration and passport validity.
  • Prevent overstays by requiring valid passports for the entire visit.

Authorities are urged to update systems, disseminate information to the public, and ensure smooth implementation of this new rule. Travelers are advised to check their passport validity to avoid disruptions.
