The Israel Ministry of Tourism (IMOT) successfully hosted the 31st edition of the International Mediterranean Tourism Market (IMTM) on May 7–8, 2025, at EXPO Tel Aviv. Widely recognized as one of the most influential tourism events in the Mediterranean region, IMTM 2025 drew global attention with participation from 24 international tour operators across 11 countries, including the USA, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Russia, Brazil, South Korea, the Philippines, Spain, and India.
India was among the key focus countries this year. Indian tourism professionals, including Chandrasekar Krishnakumar from PickYourTrail, Manoj Das from Tern Voyages, and Vanessa Mehra from Aaryan Holidays, represented the Indian travel trade community at the event. The delegation also attended the IMTM Gala Evening at the historic Knights’ Halls in Akko and took part in exclusive networking sessions with top Israeli tourism stakeholders.
IMTM 2025 served as a vibrant platform for global travel professionals to showcase destinations, explore business opportunities, and engage in industry-led seminars and discussions on emerging tourism trends. The event also featured immersive cultural experiences, promoting Israel as a safe, diverse, and dynamic destination for international travelers.
Highlighting Israel’s tourism growth vision, Ministry of Tourism Director-General Dani Shahar said, “We aim to welcome 7 million tourists by 2030. Our focus is on developing smart strategies, forging long-term partnerships, and creating experiences that go beyond the ordinary. India remains a crucial market for us, and we are thrilled by the increasing interest from Indian travelers and the travel trade community.”
Indian delegates also explored Israel’s iconic heritage and tourist attractions, including Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, and the contemporary coastal city of Tel Aviv. Two Indian travel representatives extended their stay to discover more of Israel’s cultural and historical richness, reflecting the growing confidence in Israel’s safety and appeal as a travel destination for Indian tourists.
As India continues to emerge as one of the fastest-growing outbound tourism markets, IMTM 2025 marked a significant step in strengthening Indo-Israel tourism ties. The event not only reinforced IMOT’s commitment to growing inbound tourism from India but also promoted cross-cultural exchange through collaborative tourism initiatives.
With its unique blend of ancient heritage, vibrant cities, and a strong focus on safety and innovation, Israel continues to gain traction as a preferred destination for Indian travelers, tour operators, and media professionals alike.
