
The Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, inaugurated the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in Srinagar. This event marked the beginning of the annual Tulip Show-2025. The garden, situated at the foothills of the Zabarwan Range with a scenic view of Dal Lake, is recognized as the largest tulip garden in Asia.
Spanning an area of over 30 hectares, the garden boasts more than 1.7 million tulips, representing 74 different varieties. Alongside tulips, it features a diverse range of other spring-blooming flowers such as daffodils, hyacinths, and muscari. The floral display provides visitors with a vibrant and colorful experience, adding to the garden’s aesthetic appeal.
During the inauguration, Chief Minister Abdullah explored the garden’s terraces and interacted with visitors. He encouraged tourists to share their experiences and promote the beauty of Kashmir. He also highlighted the significance of the Tulip Show in showcasing the region’s natural diversity and attracting nature lovers from across the world.
The inauguration of the Tulip Garden marks the onset of the spring tourism season in Kashmir. The garden is expected to draw a large number of domestic and international visitors who wish to witness its breathtaking floral displays. The tulips are anticipated to remain in full bloom for several weeks, allowing tourists ample time to experience the garden’s beauty.
