Vietjet Expands Vietnam-China Connectivity with New Hanoi–Chengdu and Hanoi–Xi’an Routes, Boosting Transit Options for Indian Travellers

Vietjet has announced the launch of two new direct routes from Hanoi to Chengdu and Xi’an, China, with inaugural flights scheduled for July 1 and July 6, 2025, respectively. Each route will operate four round-trip flights weekly, further enhancing the airline’s Vietnam China network, which now includes seven new direct routes introduced in the first half of 2025 alone.

With these additions, Vietjet connects Vietnam’s major hubs Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City  to leading Chinese cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, and Xi’an.

This growth also benefits Indian travellers, who increasingly opt to transit through Vietnam en route to China. Vietjet’s expanding network offers seamless and affordable access to China while allowing passengers to explore Vietnam en route.

Earlier this year, Vietjet also strengthened its India-Vietnam connectivity by launching non-stop flights from Hyderabad and Bengaluru to Ho Chi Minh City. The airline now operates 10 India-Vietnam routes with 78 weekly flights, connecting Indian cities such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru to key Vietnamese destinations like Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang, making it the carrier with the most extensive India Vietnam network.
