Air India Express Enhances Travel Experience with Increased Baggage Allowance and Expanded Network

Air India Express has announced a significant enhancement to its baggage allowance, offering guests 30kg of free check-in baggage and 7kg of cabin baggage on international flights between India and the Middle East, as well as Singapore. As a leading airline on the India-Middle East routes, Air India Express operates approximately 450 weekly flights connecting 19 Indian cities to 13 destinations in the region, along with 26 weekly flights connecting Singapore to Chennai, Madurai, and Tiruchirappalli.

For travelers seeking budget-friendly options, the airline offers Xpress Lite fares, which exclude check-in baggage but include a complimentary 3kg cabin baggage allowance. Guests can pre-book additional baggage at discounted rates—15kg for domestic flights and 20kg for international routes.

Business-class travelers can opt for Xpress Biz, featuring 40kg of check-in baggage, recliner seats with a 58-inch seat pitch, priority services, and gourmet hot meals. Families traveling with infants benefit from an additional 10kg check-in baggage allowance, totaling up to 47kg, including cabin baggage.

The airline also introduces Xtra Carry-On services, allowing travelers to increase cabin baggage allowance by 3kg to 5kg. Additionally, guests can carry musical instruments as cabin baggage at no extra cost within specified dimensions or purchase an extra seat for larger instruments weighing up to 75kg.

With over 400 daily flights—a 30% increase from last year—Air India Express has expanded its network to over 50 destinations, including new routes to Bangkok and Phuket in Thailand and additional destinations in the Middle East like Abu Dhabi, Dammam, Muscat, and Ras al-Khaimah. This growth is supported by a rapidly expanding fleet, expected to reach 100 aircraft by the end of the financial year.

Air India Express continues to enhance its offerings, delivering greater value, convenience, and flexibility for its passengers.
